This is the first time for me to play this game and I’m already a HUGE fan of it. Here’s whats fun: - Explore the Caribbean for hidden treasure, go on personal adventures (like finding your lost family) and plundering various vessels of the sea. - Join a country and fight for them, or betray them, as desired. You’re the pirate, so you decide how you will get things done. - Attack or sneak into cities; conqueroring them reminds me a lot of Sid Meier’s Civilization game. - Plunder gold from trading ships, and then buy items with it to enhance your abilities as a pirate. Additional fun aspects that add to the game: - Countries can and will take a bounty out on your head, if you hit them a bit too hard. You might find yourself getting chased across the sea! - Weather (strong winds) can help or hinder your ability to win or … escape. - Go to jail if you’re caught or captured. Bribe a guard to released early, but your ship might get chased from the port. Problems with the game: - There are some graphical “bug" issues, like flickering screen effects (fading transitions) that need to be fixed. It doesn’t affect game play, but can it be QUITE annoying! - When the Governor’s daughter asks you to go on a dance, the keystrokes used to control the dance moves can be a bit cumbersome, especially for laptop users. Playable, but a bit frustrating. - A few strange bugs, like not being able to change the flag on your ship from one country to another (when changing alliances). Overall, it’s a GREAT GAME! If you’re on the fence about buying it, give it a try! Very glad that I did...
